The Ride: Beating the scorcher

Today's forecast predicts temperatures in the 100s. It's likely to hit 106 F, and if it does, it will break all sorts of records. The high humidity will make it feel more like 110 or so. Needless to say, we're in an "Excessive Heat Warning":  children, animals and the elderly are advised to avoid the outdoors.

Being neither a child, an animal, nor elderly, I went for a bike ride.

I was on the road at 7am; it was already 85 F and 67% humidity.  It was definitely warm, but as long as I was moving and in the shade, it was fine.  When I stopped to take a picture, though, the floodgates of my sweat pores opened and I was drenched instantly.

This was not a day to log a ton of miles or attempt speed records, so I spun a quick 20 miles and was back home in the air conditioning by 9am.  Mmm.  I do love my air conditioning.
